ALL SAINTS´WEEK ´18

ALL SAINTS´WEEK 2018
"WE ARE ALL CALLED TO BE SAINTS"

As the past three years we have been working on the saints, a Spanish tradition which may be replaced, specially among young people , with Halloween.  Both traditions are related to the dead and we want to focus on ours and put a cheerful atmosphere for the children to see that Sanctity is not a dark and old thing.

It has been a global project worked from the early ages in our school learning about the Christian origins of their names , the lives of the most famous saints as St. Teresa, St. Francis of Asís, etc. and they have had fun getting pictures taken at this nice photocall "LET´S BE SAINTS

In Primary they have done different activities such as Maps with saints to see their stories, origins and celebration; beautiful garlands, some tips for us to be a kind of saints, to see how people around us are on their way to a common sanctity and to appreciate generosity, pray, help, teaching, understanding...

In Secondary we have been working in a multidisciplinary way , being different subjects involved in the project: History, Religion, Arts and Craft, German and English.
The 1st ESO students have made nice banners with the saints of their names. These banners welcome the visitors to the exhibition

2nd.ESO worked on the different English speaking countries and their saints. They drew beautiful maps and set the saints with the important information around it trying to give a quick look of  Christianism related to the British culture.

3rd and 4th ESO have found Human Virtues in Painting and then have chosen a picture , trying to copy it in a very personal and colourful way to make this lovely exhibition and getting a deep sight into daily sanctity.

The students from the German class did something different. They made a cool picture dictionary with some words related to virtues and sanctity.

FRANKLIN´S LOST EXPEDITION

Franklin's lost expedition THE MYSTERY OF THE FRANKLIN EXPEDITION Many years ago, explorers wanted to find a way by sea from Europe to China, via Alaska. In 1845, John Franklin left England with 134 men to look for a route through the Arctic. Franklin´s ships had everything they needed. They had enough food in tins for three years and thousands of litres of lemon juice to stop disease and many other things as books, maps, scientific and musical instruments and even a camera. They arrived at Baffin Bay in July 1845 and things were going well, some sailors saw Franklin´s expedition on July  26th and that was the last time they were seen alive. The British Government became very worried because they heard nothing about Franklin for a long time, they sent expeditions to lo...
